Quoth the Writer Anthology

In June of 2021, Quoth the Writer released its first anthology. It wanted to showcase writers and authors whom the world may have never seen or heard of before. At first, owner Lisa Hodorovych wasn't 100% sure if she was going to continue publishing an anthology each year (or bi-annually, or quarterly, or monthly) until the first issue came out. Not only was it the pure joy she felt in creating it, but also the joy that came from the contributors that really pushed her to continue publishing this anthology. The fact that they kept on thanking her because they were able to live their dream was the cherry on top of an already incredible sundae!

Disease. Pandemic. Anarchy. Apocalypse. These are words that strike fear into the hearts of the bravest men and women. These are words we hope to never experience in our lifetime, but, unfortunately, we have.

In its first anthology, Quoth the Writer, L.L.C. took a brave step into the terrifying world of disease and anarchy. Luckily, a couple of writers used their strong voices to face this theme head on. The poems written by Sean Wolfe are powerful and the fiction story written by Barbara Dickinson shows us a scary reality that we, unfortunately, recently faced.

You can purchase the paperback through Amazon and the eBook through Smashwords.

In the first issue, we dove into the darkness. This time we rise up to the light.

As everyone starts gathering again with family and friends to celebrate holidays, birthdays, etc., Quoth the Writer felt it necessary to focus on that. To focus on celebrating not only holidays, but achievements, victories, and even life itself.

In this issue, you will find a two-part story where the first narrative shows a celebration of a traitor being executed while the second reveals a celebration of his life amongst his followers. You will also find a story celebrating the life of an adventurous cat and a poem that will show you how to celebrate your achievements.

You can purchase the paperback through Amazon and the eBook through Smashwords.

*Submission Deadline for Issue 3 will be May 1, 2024*

This journey will continue as Quoth the Writer prepares to launch its third issue in 2024.

(Note from owner, Lisa Hodorovych: Please forgive me for not doing more to get it out this year, 2023. I got so caught up in preparing to launch my second book that the anthology, unfortunately, went to the back burner. As we get closer to June 30th, I will start making announcements for submissions and we will get the ball rolling for Issue 3.)

On June 30, 2024, Quoth the Writer will be publishing its third anthology with the theme being writing prompts. After diving into the darkness of disease and anarchy in 2021 and then rising up to celebrate in 2022, owner Lisa Hodorovych decided to "slow" things down a bit and give you, the writer, the reins. For Issue 3, we will be looking for writers to find a writing prompt that will inspire their muse and ... well ... write! It doesn't matter what the prompt is, if it leans more towards fantasy or horror or romance; whatever calls to you, write it and send it in. It just might be featured in QTW Anthology's next issue! We just ask no erotica and minimum profanity. Also, if you find a prompt that's more non-fiction or inspires you to write poetry, both are fine and acceptable.

The fiction and non-fiction pieces can be up to 10,000 words (about 40 pages, double-spaced) or less and only 10 or less poems can be submitted. You do not have to worry about formatting as we will take care of that; however, we do ask that you submit a Word document - or PDF - that is in Times New Roman, 12-pt font, and double-spaced.

There is NO submission fee for this.

Contributors will receive one (1) complimentary copy of the anthology and then any additional copies will be at a discounted rate (50%).

When you are ready to submit, please send it to qtwanthology@gmail.com with the subject line stating, "Writing Prompts Anthology," your last name, and the form you are submitting (fiction, non-fiction, or poem). For example, "Writing Prompts Anthology - Hodorovych - Fiction". Lastly, when you do submit, please include the writing prompt, so it can be added in before your piece. Thank you!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Lisa Hodorovych at qtwanthology@gmail.com.
