Reviews

An author's bread and butter are the reviews left by amazing readers, whether good or bad. After reading my book(s), please leave a review on Amazon, GoodReads, on your social media (please make sure to tag me), or you can email me your thoughts.

Thank you in advance!

"The mystery is quite interesting and takes on a sort of 'superhero' type story where a person becomes something else. There are some interesting twists and turns...the story was a quick read and entertaining. Unique in nature for sure."

"Great book!!

There is Great character development.

I felt invested in each character as I read the story.

The story builds and builds in suspense.

I could not put this book down!!

I highly recommend this book!!"

On February 10th, 2024, I attended I Heart Horror Day and met Dominic Gregoria. He was kind enough to read both my books and review them on his blog. Here's what he had to say...

The Disappearance: "... Hodorovych's book is a love story happening within a tale of horror. I would get upset every time I would have to put the book down. It's a fun read that gets a little mushy sometimes ... but it is a written journal after all!"

He's Here!: "... Hodorovych has a writing style that made me feel like I was part of Ashlynn's family. ... I got the feeling that I was in the middle of a beauty and the beasts story. ... I am looking forward to whatever else comes from the mind of Lisa Hodorovych."

On May 5th, 2024, I attended A Day (or Two) of Wine, Romance, and More where I met Kat of Kat Loves to Read. She read The Disappearance and had this to say, "I was ready for a change from romance into a suspenseful thriller type book and this filled that. ... I honestly thought I knew where this was going but then something would happen and I'd be left with my jaw on the floor."

There are plenty of reviews to check out on Amazon and GoodReads under each book and I am truly thankful that they are mainly 4- and 5-star reviews. However, I did receive my first 1-star review back in October on my GoodReads.  The person said, "The Book had a decent plot idea, but the author's writing style was very undeveloped. It seemed like something written by a junior high student. There were many spelling and grammar errors, and many instances where the book did not make logical sense. Definitely would not recommend."

As much as this review truly breaks my heart, it is also a learning experience. My takeaway is to work on my writing and to better my skills as a writer. To my fellow authors, do not overlook a 1-star review. I know it hurts, but if the person wrote an explanation of why, please take that and use it to your advantage.
