Back in November of 2010, my husband and I started dating. He began to meet my friends, and I began to meet his, not realizing the chosen family we were creating. One of those friends (now family) I met was Sam; a very kind young lady who shared similar passions with me about books and dogs. However, at the time, I didn’t know she was working on starting her own business. I actually didn’t find out until I went to an event my husband’s radio station (he was working for 105.5 WDHA at the time) was hosting and she was there, featuring some of her products. She was calling it Fleecy Finds and she was selling fleece blankets she had created.
I fell in love! The blankets she had were adorable and were so soft!
She would go on to do events here and there and take custom orders, but it wasn’t until 2014-ish, when she got her dog, Asia, that she decided to become “more serious” with it. She started doing more events, bigger events, and her inventory started to grow. She went from fleece blankets to t-shirts and wooden signs to now carrying poop bag holders, coin purses, key chains, purses/bags, and so much more. And everything is geared toward dogs and dog lovers, but she can customize whatever you want with whatever you like.
For example, I asked her to make a fleece blanket for me featuring Sam and Dean from SUPERNATURAL that I was going to give to my cousin for Christmas one year. The blanket came out so well and my cousin loved it! She has also made bookmarks for me featuring the titles of both my books that I have sold at events. Lastly, I asked her to make “L<3VE” signs for myself and for my husband. For myself the “O” in “love” was replaced by Godzilla and for my husband, it was replaced by the Iron Man mask, since that’s one of his favorite comic book characters. We loved them! The look on my husband’s face when I gave it to him will forever live (rent free) in my mind. As you can see in the pictures below, they are currently hanging beautifully in our room.
